5.0 out of 5 stars A Serious, Lucid Guide to Transformation, February 22, 2009

This is an authoritative, serious, yet highly digestable and lucid guide to self-transformation. No fluff, no nonsense - just an effective summary of noetic observations. The book does not offer any self-transformation protocols or vectors of change. It just offers a wealth of pattern-summaries from a large sample of seekers, gurus, teachers, meditators - in a straightforward, well-organized debriefing analysis. Honestly presented. Case in point: in discussing the pathways to transformation, the book offers more than nominal, apolitical, sober account of the psychodelic pathway. Once again, no hype, no schizotypal, over-the-top, empty-mysticism new-aginess. Observations are drawn from secular and non-secular sources. Clear structure, good suggestions. Worth the money and, more importantly, the reading time.
